The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers both categorical and advanced tracks for residents. Progression through the program leads to eligibility for the certifying exam of the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Graduates of the residency program are well trained in general and specialty Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation as well as academic Physiatry.

The residency program at The Ohio University Wexner Medical Center provides training through a dedicated academic curriculum, exposure to reasearch opportunites, and clinical rotations within the city of Columbus. Inpatient rehabilitative care involves brain injury, spinal cord injury, pediatrics, stroke, orthopedics, general neuromuscular diseases as well as cancer and organ transplantation.  Ambulatory experiences include General PM&R, speciality care includeing spine interventions, and electrodiagnositic medicine.
